Keep your stuff together and your worlds apart

A pink FoldnRºll packing organiser, an eco-minded travel accessory for people on the go.

What makes a perfect Fold+Rºll?

The perfect Fold+Rºll knows it’s got a job in the world - helping you say ‘Goodbye’ to bag chaos. Whether it will roll small things like underwear or bulky clothes like jeans. Whether it will stop a damp swimming costume wrinkling the pages of your favourite notebook. Or keep your best top dry when you cycle to work. Or just tidy your hand luggage for that business trip. It likes to be useful, from the moment it rolls out of the workshop.

Every Fold+Rºll has an edition

Each edition is designed to be the correct size and fabric for the job it’s going to do. Importantly, we chose the most sustainable materials we can find for that job. Fold+Rºlls are produced in batches from traceable fabrics by our sewing partner workshops.

We’re proud of the people we work with and the materials we use - and we want to make sure you know what you’re getting. You will be able to find your edition with the QR code on the packaging (there’s one on the fabric but they sometimes don’t read so well if it’s a bit stretchy).

We are constantly sourcing new fabrics, working on new designs and generally thinking of new ways to help people on the go keep their stuff together and their worlds apart. We’ll keep this page updated as we introduce new editions.

Check out what makes each edition special below.

Lifecycle - reduce, reuse and recycle:

Reduce:

The most important rule is to buy well. Good quality things you really need and not too many. The Fold+Rºll is designed to used the minimum materials - a minimalist design with no extra labels, tags or pointless bits of plastic. Consider how many you really need, wash them gently to keep them in use for many years.

If the Fold+Rºll needs a bit of TLC you can repair it by sewing up tears or patching holes.

Reuse:

If you don’t need your Fold+Rºll any more, you can gift to a deserving friend or donate to a charity shop (if you include your edition number or QR code they can check them out on this website).

If you really can’t rehome your Fold+Rºll, send it back to us and we’ll find a home for it. Just use our form.

Recycle:

This edition is 97% biodegradable. The organic cotton used in this Fold+Rºll is biodegradable which means it will decompose over a relatively short time in the right conditions. The 3% Lycra is not biodegradable at this point and will take many more decades to degrade. We are looking at a quicker biodegrading option for the next edition.

Edition Impact:

We are working to make each edition as traceable as possible, lower the impact and make it as measurable as possible. Because we are making small batches at the moment, we are using averages to calculate impacts. As editions get bigger it will be easier to be specific and accurate.

Materials:

Fabric:

97% organic cotton, 3% Lycra (organic cotton in conversion)

Packaging:

Paper label and cardboard box

Processes:

Fabric Print:

GOTS 6.0 compliant, OEKO-TEX (Class I and II) certified pigment inks by CottonBee a GOTS certified company in Poland

Sewing:

All cutting and sewing by APF, a social enterprise in France

CO2:

We estimate that the CO2 emissions for the fabric for each Fold+Rºll is approximately 3kg.

How did we reach this figure ?

We looked at emissions data by academics, organisations, comparable companies and CO2 calculators and weighted our estimate to the lower parameters. This is because organic cotton has a lower carbon and water footprint than conventionally grown cotton as well as very reduced pesticide and artificial fertiliser use. In addition, we keep post manufacture emissions as low as possible. There’s more reading about the carbon footprint of cotton and other textiles linked below.

Distribution:

The materials used in this edition were transported by road to the workshop in France (about 1,500 km). The final Fold+Rºlls were by UPS by road to the UK for onward distribution by the postal system.

Lifecycle:

The lifecycle impacts are now down to you!

Please wash at a low temperature and consider how you can keep your Fold+Rºll as long as possible, regift it, repair it and finally recycle it.
